Overseas Nanny

Nannies and Governesses looking to register with KS Private Staff overseas division must have a minimum 5 years childcare experience and recent verifiable references.
All of our candidates undergo a rigorous vetting procedure before they are registered with us, so you can rest assured that you will only be offered thoroughly checked candidates for your selection.
Considerations
Accommodation: Nannies and Governesses need live-in accommodation (their own bedroom and bathroom provided). If separate accommodation can be offered this is always preferable and means that higher calibre candidates will be attracted to the role. All costs for the accommodation are covered by the employer, and food should be provided also.
Babysitting: Overseas live-in nannies can offer 2 nights babysitting from Monday-Thursday. Additional days or weekends would need to be agreed in advance.
Holiday: Overseas nannies are entitled to a minimum of 4-weeks paid holiday, with national Bank Holidays also given (or additional payment/time in lieu if they are needed for work).
Nanny duties
Nannies take responsibility for all nursery duties: everything associated with the care of the children, their nursery and play areas, as well as planning and preparing nutritious food if required.
They will manage the children’s daily routine and needs, organise educational play to encourage development while creating a professional bond and trusting relationship with the family.
For school-age children, nannies can supervise and assist with homework, reading, spelling, and manage their after-school activities.
If you are looking for the nanny to tutor your children too then you will need a Governess.
Governess duties
A Governess will organise your children’s timetable to fit in study, activities, and play. They will teach the curriculum (English, Maths, Science, History and Geography) as well as teach your children a musical instrument, a language, or a sport. They can prepare your children for school assessments/exams.
Salaries and working hours for Overseas Nannies and Governesses:
Salaries depend on qualifications, experience and number of days/hours required. These range from around £700 pw clear (after tax) for a post in Europe that is 5 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, up to £2000+ per week clear for a role that may be 24/6 in the Middle East or Russia. For roles that may require 24-hour cover 7 days a week we recommend having 2 nannies working on a rota basis, ie one week on, one week off, or two weeks on, two weeks off.
Please note that Nannies and Governesses with particular skills, attributes or training may command a higher salary.

Live In Nanny
A live-in nanny will generally work between 10 and 12 hours per day 5 days per week. Some nannies can offer 24-hour cover for 5 or even 6 days at a higher salary. We can advise the best solution according to your needs. Baby-sitting can be included within the salary, normally 1 or 2 weekday evenings. Extra evenings or weekend babysitting should be agreed at interview and will generally be paid extra.
A live-in nanny will need to have her own bedroom provided and ideally her own bathroom, or shared with the children. Her food and any bills for the accommodation (excluding telephone) should also be included. Some nannies are offered self-contained accommodation and a nanny car – any extra perks such as these help to attract higher calibre nannies.
A fully vetted Live-in Nanny from KS Private Staff will look after all duties connected with the children and give you complete peace of mind when you are not with them. As well as childcare and school/nursery runs, nannies will look after nursery duties (cleaning, cooking and shopping associated with the children). If more substantial housekeeping is required best to look at employing a nanny/housekeeper as qualified/experienced nannies will do nursery duties only.
Live in nannies based in the UK command salaries from £21k pa gross for entry level to around £38k pa gross for a very experienced nanny.
Overseas Live in nannies can command salaries well over £50k pa gross.

Daily Nanny
A fully vetted daily nanny from KS Private Staff will be qualified and/or experienced and can be full time or part time. Daily nannies will come to your home and can work up to 10 or 11 hours per day (typically from 7.30am-6.30pm) depending on the role and circumstances. Their work will consist of childcare, school/nursery runs as appropriate, and nursery duties. Nursery duties are basically any shopping, cooking, cleaning or laundry that is directly associated with the children.
If any housekeeping is required, you should probably look for a Nanny/Housekeeper (qualified nannies will only carry out nursery duties). Baby-sitting for daily nannies is usually charged separately unless agreed by prior arrangement. If the employers need the nanny to drive, then a car is provided for them to use. It is a nice perk to offer the car for use both on and off duty.
Salaries vary according to experience, qualifications, and location, ranging from £30k gross pa for an entry level daily nanny outside London to over £50k gross pa for a daily nanny with 8+ years’ experience in Central London. Part time nannies range from £12-£15ph net.

Private Personal Assistant
The role of a Private Personal Assistant varies widely according to the employer’s situation and general requirements. In a private household a PA will work as part of a domestic team providing full household support to the family.
Typical duties may involve staff recruitment, scheduling of household maintenance, running household errands, travel arrangements, book keeping and full administrative support. Some family PAs may also be involved with childcare but as with all roles it is important that the duties are clarified at interview stage.
